Not Going Back?
So I will get straight to the point. All your life, other than the first early years, they send you off to school. First there is elementary, then on to highschool, and finally college and/or university. Now, at 21, I have finally finished all of my schooling. And I have to say...it is an errie feeling. My point is, they send you to school your entire life, and then they just expect you to be able to stop, just like that. College was great, but personally, I could have made due with a couple of courses on budgeting, and things that actually apply in the real world.
Now luckily I took child and youth work, and had social skills going into the program. But really, college does not prepare you for what's out there. I never realized how much life costs until I got my car, imagine what it will be like when I move out.
Anyway, this is the first year I will not be going back to school in September. It hit me when I got my work schedule for September and my availability was open. Now it's time to become a working stiff like everyone else, work to live and live to work, get a full time job, which by the way I have done.
I think the fact that I'm out of school now is scaring me. Ive even considered going back next year part time for my B.A. which is 2 years full time. Any ideas on how to utilize my time where I would usually be at school? Anyone in the same predicament, or am I crazy to be missing school, especially the social aspect. Any comments are welcome.
